Get the microphone to work again.

Reset mic settings in Word

Did you accidentally deny the microphone in Word? See how to reset the settings for web add-ins so that speech-to-text works again.

If you accidentally rejected the microphone in Word, you cannot use speech-to-text with Cliarly. To fix this, we need to reset the permissions by clearing the cache.

Here is the guide on how to reset the microphone permissions in Word so you are asked again:

Here's how to do it:

  1. Open Word.
  2. Click on Files (top left) and select Settings (bottom left conrner). 3.In the left side of the new window, click Security & Compliance Center.
  3. Click the Security and Rights Administration Center Settings button on the right.
  4. Select the Reliable add-on catalogs item in the menu on the left.
  5. Check the box: "Next time Office starts, clear all cached web add-ins that were previously started."
  6. Click OK at the bottom, and then click OK again in the underlying settings window.

Important: Completely close Word. Make sure no other Word documents are open in the background.

When you restart Word, the cache will be cleared, and you can open Cliarly and say Allow/Yes to the microphone permission.
